p.m.
Members in attendance were Jim, Chet, Barbara, Donna, Judy,
John, and Lynn.
Financial report: Presented
by John –

completed to the men’s restroom in May.
In summary:
Club
Assets $52,800
Income
YTD $57,947
Expenses
YTD $60,007*
* This includes a $4000 payment towards a new A/C unit to be
installed this summer.
September Sectional: Presented by Chet -
A
committee, chaired by Chet Masztak, and including Judy Hines and Betty Bayard,
has been working on the September Sectional.
Chet reported that plans are well on the way and in order.
1. Max
provided an excellent outline to follow.
2. Judy
McCall, who is in charge of the meals, has requested that the refrigerators be
left as empty as possible prior to the tournament.
3. Ralph
will be in charge of the coffee urns.
4. Chris
has volunteered to sell the lunch tickets each day.
5. Prizes
have been decided on.
6. Additional
help is needed in the kitchen, especially on Sunday. Any member who can help should contact Judy
McCall.
7. As
always, all members are asked to help with refreshments on various days. Shirley Townley will be coordinating this.
Building Report: Presented by Jim -
1. A new A/C unit has been approved by the board
and is to be installed as soon as the weather permits. There will also be some roof repairs done at
the same time. This work is estimated to
be $9300.
2. It
was noted that a new roof is likely to be needed within the next 5 to 10 years. Standing water is a problem. Future
board members, please
note!
3. Repairs
to the toilet in the ladies restroom have been completed.
Classes:
1. The
board has approved a request by Linda Miller to start a 2/1 class. This will be a small class consisting of two
tables or less.
2. Matie
will be starting a new Beginner’s class on October 8. Public service announcements have been
prepared. Jim and Donna will be making
the appropriate contacts to get them out.
Miscellaneous:
1. Barbara
noted that our housekeeper has been asked to work on cleaning the tables and
chairs prior to the Sectional. She will
be doing this on a gradual basis.
2. There
was some discussion regarding the significantly increased expense for printer
cartridges and drums which is explained by the printing of hand records for pre-dealt
hands. Several suggestions were made to
help with this expense. Directors have
become more aware of the demand for handouts and are asked to try not to print
them in excess. Chet is working on
making adjustments to the printer to use less ink.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
The next meeting will be Monday August
17.
